Fornjot - Vase XLII

Fornjot is a small irregular moon orbiting around Saturn. It has a retrograde orbit and was probably a captured object. It is named after a giant in Norse mythology who commanded the sea, wind and fire. 

The vase was coiled by hand and fired up to 1240C. Fornjot is made with a black clay and covered with porcelain slip. It is glazed inside and left unglazed outside. 

The vase is functional and measures 12 cm in height and around 10 cm in diameter at its middle (largest) point. 

All the glazes are formulated and made by me.
